STUDY IN UK : 9 TIPS FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS.

Recent studies show that the majority of overseas students are undergraduates, so there's a good chance this is you! Quarantine hotels were introduced in the UK in February for incoming travellers who had been in or transited certain countries . Those from the 'Red List countries must spend 10 days in a government -approved quarantine hotel at the cost of £1,750.

From Visa s and tution fees, to health insurance and bank accounts ,there's a lot for international students to consider about studying in the UK -so I've broken it down in this step -by -step guide.\

  1. Plan your funding and research scholarships

Before you do anything else , you need to make sure you have the finances to fund your degree .The funding available to you depends on where you are in the world and the date you enroll at uni.

Previously, students from the european union (EU) , the European Economic Area and Switzerland were able to access students finance the same way UK students can .

Students from outside the EU (apart from certain specific circumstances ) have never been eligible for students finance in the UK , no matter when you started your degree . You have to fund your degree yourself, and you'll often have to pay fees much higher than what UK students pay -anything from £10,000 - £35,000 a year.

DON'T FORGET THAT FOR YOUR VISA APPLICATION TO BE SUCCESSFUL , YOU'LL NEED TO PROVIDE EVIDENCE THAT YOU CAN COVER THIS COST ,AS WELL AS YOUR LIVING EXPENSES..

2. Organise your students Visa

If you're from a country outside the EU and the EEA (excludind Switzerland ) , you've always needed to apply for a Visa to study in the UK.

SOME DOCUMENTS YOU'LL NEED FOR YOUR STUDENTS VISA APPLICATION:

  1. CAS Letter (Confirmantion of Acceptance of Studies ) - A 14 digit number you'll receive from the university once you get accepted.

  2. Proof of Finances - You'll need to prove that you have enough moneny to pay your tution fees and expenses.

  3. English Language Skills.
